This afternoon, our amazing House Captains had their first meeting of the year with Mr Lloyd! 
They enjoyed hot chocolate in their House Captain mugs and biscuits while discussing exciting plans for next half term, including: inter-house events, quizzes, class charities and promoting our values across school. It was fantastic to see such teamwork and leadership in action. Well done to each and every one of you.
his morning, some of our amazing Year 5 children represented school at the Burnley School Sport Partnership Panathlon ten-pin bowling event! 
They took part in a range of games and showed fantastic teamwork, determination and great sportsmanship throughout. We are so proud to share that they finished in a brilliant 4th place, with lots of strikes and spares along the way! Well done to all involved for being such positive ambassadors for our school and for giving their very best.
Yr3 had a fantastic visit and the chance to meet Father Charlie at All Saints with St John the Baptist Church, learning all about Christian ceremonies including christenings, weddings and funerals. The children asked thoughtful, insightful questions and showed just how much they have been learning in RE this half term. We are so proud of their enthusiasm, curiosity and excellent behaviour throughout the trip. Well done, Y3!
🍂 Harvest Donations – Supporting Our Local Community 🍂
This harvest, we are delighted to be supporting Burnley FC in the Community Foodbank, helping to provide essential food and supplies to local families who need them most. ❤️
We would be incredibly grateful for any donations of non-perishable food items, including:
🥫 Tinned foods – soup, beans, vegetables, fruit and meat
🍝 Dried foods – pasta, rice and noodles
🥛 Long-life products – milk, juice and cereals
🧴 Everyday essentials – toiletries and hygiene products
📅 Donations will be collected until Friday 23rd September. Please send any donations into school with your child.
We understand that times can be challenging for many families, so there is absolutely no expectation to contribute. However, any donation, no matter how small, will be greatly appreciated.

We are delighted to introduce our School Council, Sports Council, Happy Heroes and Eco Council for 2026–2027. They will represent their classes and help shape school life this year. We are proud of their enthusiasm, commitment and leadership.

We are proud of all our Yr5 children for starting their Playground Leader training with Mr O’Brien! They are learning new physical activity games and developing the skills to lead fun sessions across school. Well done, Year 5 — we can’t wait to see you in action! 
This morning, we enjoyed a lively assembly with Mad Science, who wowed everyone with a fantastic range of experiments 
We were also excited to hear about the planned Mad Science Club, which begins on 5th November. Letters and information about the club will be sent home with children, and if your child would like to take part, please return the completed form to school to register their place 
We’re pleased to let families know that our school now has an Anaphylaxis Kitt from Kitt Medical. It includes adrenaline auto‑injectors and clear emergency instructions, plus staff training. Severe allergic reactions can happen suddenly, even without a known allergy, so this gives us extra protection for pupils, staff and visitors. If your child has an allergy, please keep sending their own auto‑injectors and let us know about any changes.

Brilliant first session for our Year 5 Girls Table Tennis Lunchtime Club today! The girls learnt how to serve and even played their first games. A fantastic start — well done, girls! We look forward to more opportunities for everyone over the next week
We are absolutely delighted to share that, thanks to the incredible kindness and generosity of our wonderful parents, families, and local community, we raised a staggering £1,134 at yesterday's Summer Fair!
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who donated and supported the event in so many different ways. Your generosity and enthusiasm helped make the day such a fantastic success, and we are so grateful for the amazing support our school community continues to show.
Our Year 6 children are incredibly proud to be leaving this money as part of their legacy to the children of Lowerhouse. The funds will be used during the autumn term to purchase resources that will benefit the children across the school.
We are also pleased to share that £200 of the profit will be donated to the Yorkshire Air Ambulance in recognition of the support they provided to one of our parents when they needed them most. This is our way of saying thank you for the incredible work they do every day.
Thank you once again for helping to make our Summer Fair such a memorable and successful event. We couldn't have done it without you! 💙
