Parent Feedback

We encourage feedback and appreciate it when parents let us know about things that are going well or that they particularly like about our school. We also always try to listen to and act upon any improvements you think we could make. We send out an annual parent questionnaire and plan to provide further opportunities for parents' views to be shared.

Lowerhouse Junior School Parent Questionnaire – September 2025

13. Please share any additional comments you have about Life at Lowerhouse Junior School this year, term and in the future:
I went to an awards assembly where ***** was awarded a certificate for good manners. I thought the assembly was presented very well. It was made exciting and interactive for all the kids. I also really like how kids are encouraged to have a good attitude and attendance with a points system etc.
The school is much better since Mr Lloyd has taken over, especially with reference to after-school sporting events,
I really like school and now, with the after-school program, I think it's a great help for parents who work late. Great initiative.
Miss Fairhurst is an absolute gem. She is like the glue holding the school together, she is such a credit to Lowerhouse and makes approaching the school with any issues easier. Mr Lloyd is a welcome addition to the school and brings happy vibes. Mrs Lee is an amazing teacher also.
Thank you for your hard work
The new head teacher has been a positive change to the school! I feel like there has been lots of improvements in the short time he’s been there.
My child has just started in year 3, but we have a daughter who left in 2022 and the differences so far between then and now are night and day. We were cautious about sending Imogen to Lowerhouse based on our experiences, not any more.
I feel happier to send my child to school since Mr Lloyd has become head. The communication is much better and the school now has a sense of community with the extra sports he’s provided, and I think it is amazing as a head that he knows all the children’s names, greets them happily each morning and is always on hand to speak to any parents. I have confidence in his ability as a head, which has made a big difference to the feel of the school, in my opinion.
The school has turned around somewhat since Mr Lloyd took over, and it's clear the students and all the staff are happier to be there.
Homework is set for weekends as well as during the week. I think children should be allowed to be children, and have downtime at the weekends!
Since the change is headmaster, there has been a positive change in how children are expected to behave and how they are celebrated. The instigation of on-site wrap-around care shows a more balanced realisation of today's world and what is required to ensure full attendance of children at school. The instigation of houses and trying to build pride in performance across the school is good.
The new headteacher has been an absolute dream for the school. He has done so much in the little time he has been there. I think he is absolutely amazing and does the school a world of good.
I recently messaged the school regarding my daughter being upset and this was promptly dealt with. I feel my child has massively progressed in Lowerhouse and is interested to learn. She also loves her new teacher, Mrs Parker, as ***** struggles with change. I would recommend the school to anyone.
From a past experience with lower houses, I have seen a huge difference now. Before, it seemed very hard work to get support with my child, and now it seems to be a lot better from what I have seen. Also, the school seems to be more friendly and open and this is showing through the children.
So much change has been made in such little time, and it’s just amazing for the school. Love class dojo, being able to see what learning my child’s doing or has done, and it’s a great way of notice for upcoming events.
The sport at Lowerhouse is superb at the moment.
Lowerhouse has improved significantly in the last 9 months, since the new senior leadership team took over. This new approach is so refreshing and exciting for our young children and for parents to see. The school has taken significant steps to be more accessible via social media and class dojo allows us to see what the children are doing. The school also seems to be more interactive with the community and the activities that they are getting involved in, which is fantastic. We are involved in TAF meetings, and it is really clear in these meetings how my children are and what the next steps are for support that is in place and any new goals that are required to meet their potential. This year has seen a few teething problems in class and with settling in a new class, but after meeting with the teacher (who has always been available) we discussed the problems and made appropriate changes to help meet needs and address any problems. Thank you
