What an incredible Viking Day for Year 5! 🛡️ The children immersed themselves with hands-on workshops and activities that brought the Viking era to Lowerhouse. From exploring Viking artefacts to learning about their daily lives, writing in runes, and even reenacting battles! Well done to everyone for your enthusiasm throughout the day!
Fantastic performance by our Year 5 and Year 6 Cross Country runners at the Burnley race! 🏃♂️🏃♀️ They truly showed our school values of resilience and aspiration. Congratulations to HB and TH for qualifying for the Lancashire Finals! Thank you to Mr Pope, Mr O’Brien, and all our staff for their support, and to our parents for being amazing too!
Year 3 took part in an exciting and enriching series of Roman Workshops! They had the incredible opportunity to delve into the fascinating world of ancient Rome. Our children explored a variety of ancient artefacts, gaining hands-on experience that brought history to life. They also engaged in creative activities, looking at ancient pottery and jewellery, which allowed them to fully understand Roman life and culture! 🏺

As part of International Women's Day, some of our amazing Year 4 and Year 5 girls represented our school brilliantly at the Burnley School Sport Partnership Girls Football Sessions this morning! 
They took part in various activities before playing 4 matches, winning 2 and drawing 1! Keep up the fantastic effort!

What an incredible adventure year 5 had at the Time Odyssey Museum at Science and Industry Museum in Manchester! 
Our children represented the school brilliantly as they journeyed through time, exploring the worlds of Vikings, Ancient Egyptians and many more! It was great to see our values of respect and aspiration show towards their learning!
Our Yr6 Chess Club leader board is heating up! 
Another fantastic lunchtime filled with close games has showcased the skills our children are developing. It’s wonderful to see them not only honing their own abilities but also teaching each other along the way.
Congratulations to our Sportshall Athletics team! They achieved 2nd place in the Burnley regional finals! 🥈 Our athletes showcased their skills in various events, embodying our school value of "aspiration." A further congratulation to KH for winning athlete of the evening across all schools. Thank you to our supportive parents and to Mr Pope, Mr O’Brien, and Mr Cosgrove for their dedication in organising and training the team!

Celebrating our Eco Council's fantastic work! They've organised new recycling bins around the school, to support Mr Riley and make a real impact on our sustainability efforts. It's great to see our children contribute to a greener future! Keep it up! 💚♻️
