    • School Gather to Celebrate World Cup Victory (6th July 2026)

      After the exciting Mexico v England World Cup match late last night, our school was filled with football spirit and colours of red, white, and blue! ⚽️ We gathered to watch the game in the hall and celebrate together.       What a fantastic way to start the week with our amazing musicians! 🎸🎢 Our rock stars have been working hard with Rocksteady Music School, showcasing their skills in vocals, guitar, keyboard, and drums during their performance and assembly. A huge well done to all who demonstrated our school values of "resilience" and "aspiration" throughout their lessons over the past weeks! Let’s celebrate these achievements together!

    • Transition Morning/Day (2nd July 2026)

      What a great morning at Lowerhouse Junior School! Year 2 (Rosegrove Infant School), Year 3, Year 4, and Year 5 children had a busy time meeting their new class teachers, exploring their classrooms, and getting to know their classmates during our transition morning. They took part in different activities to help them understand what to expect as they get ready to move up to their new year groups in September.

      We are also happy to welcome Miss Showemimo to our team, who will be teaching in Year 4 Maple from September 2026. Let’s all give her a warm welcome to Lowerhouse Juniors!

      Year 4 Maple: Miss Showemimo and Mrs Sutcliffe

      Year 4 Rowan: Miss Parker, Mrs Halstead and Miss Waslin

      Year 5 Chestnut: Mr Cosgrove and Mr O’Brien

      Year 5 Oak: Mrs Wallace and Miss Withnell

      Year 6 Ash: Mrs Carter and Miss Baxendale

      Year 6 Sycamore: Mrs Marsden/Mrs Gresty, Mrs Dowling and Mr Pope

      Also, Mr Pope will be teaching PE across the school next year, with help from Mr O’Brien. πŸƒβ€β™‚οΈ

    • Yr2 Rosegrove Infants Transition Afternoon

      On Monday, we had a fantastic time welcoming Year 2 children and staff from Rosegrove Infant School to start their transition sessions over the next few weeks! They got to spend time with their new teachers and join in some fun activities to help them get ready for Lowerhouse Junior School this September. We’re excited to see them again for their full day on Thursday, 2nd July!

    • Dynamo Cricket Success for Lowerhouse Red and Lowerhouse Blue

      Well done to Lowerhouse Red and Lowerhouse Blue for a busy day of cricket at the Burnley School Sport Partnership Competition at Lowerhouse Cricket Club! 🏏 Lowerhouse Red showed their skills by winning all their matches and finishing 1st and will progress to the county finals on 7th July! A big shoutout to Lowerhouse Blue for their great effort, finishing in a great 4th place! Thank you to all the parents who came to support our teams!

    • Yr6 London Residential

      Year 6 have started their London trip with a busy day so far! 🚀 They enjoyed a boat ride on the River Thames and saw amazing views from The London Eye. 🎑The day continued as they explored London, spotting sights like The King’s Guard, the red phone boxes, and Downing Street. They also had a nice walk in St. James's Park! 🌳 What a great way to learn about our capital! Stay tuned for more updates!

    • Johnson Trophy Final for Football Stars

      Well done to our amazing football team for their fantastic performance in the Burnley School Sport Partnership Johnson Trophy Final! ⚽ The match ended in a thrilling 2-2 draw, leading to a tense penalty shootout. Although we just missed out, the team demonstrated our value of “respect” throughout the match, congratulating the winning team with true sportsmanship. A huge thank you to Mr Pope, Mr O’Brien, and Mr Cosgrove for all their hard work with the boys, and to our supportive families for cheering them on!
