We are delighted to introduce our School Council, Sports Council, Happy Heroes and Eco Council for 2026–2027. They will represent their classes and help shape school life this year. We are proud of their enthusiasm, commitment and leadership.

We are proud of all our Yr5 children for starting their Playground Leader training with Mr O’Brien! They are learning new physical activity games and developing the skills to lead fun sessions across school. Well done, Year 5 — we can’t wait to see you in action! 
This morning, we enjoyed a lively assembly with Mad Science, who wowed everyone with a fantastic range of experiments 
We were also excited to hear about the planned Mad Science Club, which begins on 5th November. Letters and information about the club will be sent home with children, and if your child would like to take part, please return the completed form to school to register their place 
We’re pleased to let families know that our school now has an Anaphylaxis Kitt from Kitt Medical. It includes adrenaline auto‑injectors and clear emergency instructions, plus staff training. Severe allergic reactions can happen suddenly, even without a known allergy, so this gives us extra protection for pupils, staff and visitors. If your child has an allergy, please keep sending their own auto‑injectors and let us know about any changes. 
Safety first, always.

Brilliant first session for our Year 5 Girls Table Tennis Lunchtime Club today! The girls learnt how to serve and even played their first games. A fantastic start — well done, girls! We look forward to more opportunities for everyone over the next week
We are absolutely delighted to share that, thanks to the incredible kindness and generosity of our wonderful parents, families, and local community, we raised a staggering £1,134 at yesterday's Summer Fair!
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who donated and supported the event in so many different ways. Your generosity and enthusiasm helped make the day such a fantastic success, and we are so grateful for the amazing support our school community continues to show.
Our Year 6 children are incredibly proud to be leaving this money as part of their legacy to the children of Lowerhouse. The funds will be used during the autumn term to purchase resources that will benefit the children across the school.
We are also pleased to share that £200 of the profit will be donated to the Yorkshire Air Ambulance in recognition of the support they provided to one of our parents when they needed them most. This is our way of saying thank you for the incredible work they do every day.
Thank you once again for helping to make our Summer Fair such a memorable and successful event. We couldn't have done it without you! 💙

What a fantastic way to start our final week! We were thrilled to welcome Leah from Pendleside Hospice, who presented us with our cheques following our successful Colour Run. 
We are proud to announce that we raised an incredible £3,090.16 for such an amazing cause! A huge thank you to our entire school community for your unwavering support and generosity. Together, we are making a difference!

This afternoon, our Year 5 Guardian Angels completed their final duties with Year 2 from Rosegrove Infants! The children engaged in exciting orienteering activities to get to know each other better and shared their reading in our beautiful Forest School Area. 🌳📚 A huge thank you to everyone at Rosegrove Infants for your incredible support this year in helping Year 2 prepare for their transition in September.
Well done to our amazing choir who performed at the Lancashire Sings 2026 at Life Church Lancashire today! 
They dedicated their morning to rehearsing and showcased their hard work in a fantastic performance this afternoon. A huge thank you to Mrs McMeekin, Miss Withnell, and Angela for their incredible support with the children. We are so proud of you all!
Well done to our Dynamo Cricket Team at the Lancashire Cricket Finals, held at the new Lancashire County Cricket Club ground in Farrington! 
The team finished an incredible 2nd place in the Lancashire Plate out of over 300 teams! They kept their standards of cricket at a high standard all day. What a fantastic achievement! 
You have made our school, Burnley School Sport Partnership, and Lowerhouse Cricket Club proud!
This morning, our amazing Year 5 Guardian Angels supported Rosegrove Infant School during their sports day held on our Year 5/6 yard. Their support truly shone as they helped the younger children complete their activities, embodying our school value of “aspiration.” It is great to continue the great work and relationship with Rosegrove Infants.
