    What is a Digital Leader?

Digital technology is a significant part of our everyday lives. We use technology throughout the day for all jobs and purposes. Therefore, ensuring that all our pupils grow into responsible digital citizens who are able to use technology purposefully and safely is of upmost importance to us.

Digital Leaders at Lowerhouse Junior School

Digital Leaders meet with Miss Parker each half-term. During these meetings they look at different aspects of online safety. Digital Leaders are then responsible for delivering the key messages from their meetings back to their peers, in their classes and across school. We believe that pupils should be educated about online safety not only by their teachers but also by their peers. Digital Leaders use presentations to educate classes and also to deliver whole-school assemblies.

    Digital Leaders' Blog

In these blogs, our Digital Leaders' share quick tips, important reminders, and updates about how we can all be smart, confident digital citizens.

Check back often to see what they’ve been working on and how they’re helping keep our school safe and tech‑smart.

Being Kind and Respectful Online (by Teddy and Rosie)

This week we are focusing on being kind online. We are talking to you about this because it is really important to make sure we are not contributing to online negativity and help keep the internet a fun and informative place to be!

    Here are our top tips:

    • If you are gaming, encourage your team mates.
    • Compliment another player’s avatar.
    • Ask people to join your team because of their awesome skills!
    • THINK before you post – Is it True as well as Helpful, Inspiring, Necessary or Kind. If not, don’t press send.
    • If you don’t have anything kind to say, say nothing.
    • If something feels wrong, tell a trusted adult.

BONUS online safety tip: NEVER share your personal information with anyone online, you never know who is behind the screen!

    What are Wellbeing Warriors?

Lowerhouse Junior School's Wellbeing Warriors are a group of children who all believe that the wellbeing of every person in our Lowerhouse family is fundamental to their happiness and positive mental health. Children applied for the role by explaining why they wanted to be a Wellbeing Warrior and outlining what qualities they would bring to the role.

What is the Wellbeing Warrior's Role?
    • To promote ways to develop positive wellbeing.

    • To attend regular meetings with Mrs Windle (Learning Mentor) and Mrs Marsden (Deputy Headteacher and Inclusion Manager).

    • Organise and lead mindfulness activities within their class.

    • Consider ways in which we can care for the wellbeing of our Lowerhouse family.

    • To lead wellbeing assemblies.

    • Share advice and tips on wellbeing.
