Our school councils are formal groups of pupils who act as representatives of their classmates in discussing school issues with the headteacher and staff. It’s a brilliant way of representing and contributing to Pupil Voice in our school. Students are elected to represent the views of all pupils and also to improve their school. "School councils" mean all kinds of school-based groups run by students. They help to make decisions about how the school is run and take on projects that support the children’s learning and development, such as organising charity events, representing the school at outside events or ensuring the school is environmentally friendly. Our school councils are usually elected annually by the other children.
We have a range of councils at Lowerhouse Junior School who meet regularly. We also have Yr6 House Captains who meet with SLT half-termly to discuss whole school ideas and how we can continue to promote our school values through house activities and events.
Please check the calendar below to see when our council members meet throughout the school year.
