Design Technology Statement of Intent

At Lowerhouse Junior School we believe that Design and Technology provides all of our students with the opportunity to demonstrate and use their creativity and imagination. We intend that the children will learn the designing and making process that will equip them with the skills to solve real and relevant problems.

The Design and Technology curriculum is designed and developed to provide the children with a progression of knowledge and skills as they move through key stage 2. It is our aim that the children develop a critical understanding of Design and Technologies impact on their daily lives and the wider world. High-quality Design and Technology education makes an essential contribution to our children’s creativity, culture and well-being.
