Year 4 - Maple
Welcome to Maple!
Our Teacher is Miss Roberts and our TA is Mrs Ormerod.
We have swimming every Tuesday and PE every Thursday. Children should come to school in their PE uniform on swimming and PE days.
Spellings will be sent home every Monday for a spelling quiz on the Friday - please practice these regularly.

Our learning
English
We have been exploring non fiction texts linked to polar bears and climate change, applying fronted adverbials for where in our writing.
Maths
We are learning about fractions including adding and subtracting non unit fractions, converting mixed numbers and improper fractions as well as ordering fractions.
Science
We are learning about how sound is made.
History
We are learning about Ancient Egypt including how advanced they were as a civilisation.
Geography
We are learning about mountains, volcanoes, tsunamis and earthquakes. We have explored the location of different mountains using google maps and researched the impact of earthquakes and tsunamis.
DT
We are investigating pulley systems to design a tool that would have helped the Ancient Egyptians to build pyramids.
Computing
We are looking at data logging.
French
The children are building on their basic conversational skills in lessons as well as building on knowledge of body parts.
R.E.
This half term, we are learning about Christianity.
P.E.
We have been working on our tennis skills in PE.
